CREATE YOUR OWN SCHOOL TIMETABLE
In this exercise, you will create your ideal school timetable by using Canva.
Step 1) Use this link to visit the Canva website and press the button in the top left corner called "templates". If you type "timetable" in the search bar, you will find different options for your layout. Select 1 of those options by clicking on it.
Step 2) Once you have selected, you start creating a draft version of your ideal timetable for a school day. In this draft version, you can start piecing together all of your subjects in what you think the best way would be. You can also switch out when you have breaks, but you can not add more breaks to your day unless you want to stay at school longer than you normally would. Use the timetable you have now to know how many hours of each subject you have. You are allowed to use two "Wildcards". This means that you can switch two hours with something different. For example, getting rid of one hour of French and replacing it with an hour of English.
Step 3) Once you have completed your draft version, you can start filling out the digital one on Canva. You do this by pressing the "text" button on the left side of the screen. When adding the text you can choose between different fonts and colours. Make sure that your text is visible and clear.
Step 4) Present your personal timetable to another classmate. Explain the changes you have made and why you made them. For example, I switched out an hour of math for another hour of German, because I love German or I put French in the final hour on Friday, because I enjoy ending my school week with a language subject.
Alternative Step 4) if no one is available to do Step 4, you can also choose the following alternative: Write a short text where you present your timetable and give your explanations and hand it in. That way you can still get feedback from your teacher.
